Introduction

Bloompair (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Bloompair mobile application.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address and password are optional when you first open the app. Bloompair creates an anonymous account so you can try the product right away; you can add an email and password later from Settings to save your progress across devices.
  • Profile information: Display name, whether you are the one carrying/who gave birth or the supporting partner, pregnancy due date, parenting stage.
  • Habit data: Habits you create, completion logs, streak data.
  • Mood data: Daily mood check-ins.
  • Task data: Shared tasks and appointments you create.
  • Couple data: Invite codes used to pair with your partner.

Information collected automatically

  • Device token: Used solely for delivering push notifications.
  • Usage data: App interactions for improving the service (no third-party analytics).

Information we do NOT collect

  • Location data
  • Contacts or address book
  • Photos or media (unless you explicitly share)
  • Browsing history
  • Data from other apps

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Bloompair service (habit tracking, partner nudges, pregnancy tracking)
  • Share relevant data with your paired partner (habit progress, mood, tasks)
  • Send push notifications (habit reminders, partner nudges, appointment reminders)
  • Improve the app experience

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Show advertisements
  • Share data with data brokers
  • Use your data for profiling or targeted advertising
  • Share data with anyone except your paired partner

Data sharing with your partner

When you pair with a partner in Bloompair, the following data is shared with them:

  • Your display name and role
  • Your habit titles and completion status
  • Your daily mood
  • Shared tasks and appointments
  • Nudges and praises between you

Your email address and password are never shared with your partner.

Sign in with Google

Bloompair offers “Sign in with Google” as an optional way to create or access your account. When you choose this option, Google shares only the following basic profile information with us:

  • Name: used to display your name to your partner inside the app.
  • Email address: used as your unique account identifier so you can sign back in and recover access on a new device.

We do not request access to your Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, Photos, or any other Google service. We do not request any sensitive or restricted Google API scopes. We do not sell, share, or use your Google account information for advertising. You can revoke Bloompair's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Data storage and security

  • Your data is stored securely on Supabase (cloud infrastructure)
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies
  • Only you and your paired partner can access your couple's data

Anonymous accounts

When you first open Bloompair, we create an anonymous account so you can try the app without providing an email or password. An anonymous account can create up to one habit, one task, and one appointment, and can pair with a partner. To save your progress across devices, receive push notifications, or add more habits/tasks/appointments, you'll need to add an email and password from within the app.

Anonymous accounts that are never upgraded and never paired are automatically deleted after 30 days, along with any data they created. Anonymous accounts that have paired with a partner are retained until you explicitly delete them, so your partner's couple isn't disrupted.

Data retention and deletion

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Anonymous accounts that are never upgraded and never paired are automatically deleted after 30 days
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings within the app
  • Account deletion permanently removes all your data, including habits, logs, mood entries, tasks, and profile information
  • Deletion is irreversible

Children's privacy

Bloompair is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (visible within the app)
  • Correct your personal data (editable in Settings)
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of push notifications (via device settings or in-app toggle)

For California residents (CCPA)

You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.

For Canadian residents (PIPEDA)

We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. You may contact us to access or correct your personal information.
